Google Gemini Web App and NotebookLM are now available to all Faculty and Staff across campus. Prior to using this feature, please adhere to the Guidelines for AI Use. It is mandatory that you understand and comply with the guidelines that were approved by the UC System before using the Google Gemini.
The Gemini app is a general-purpose AI assistant. It offers a wide range of AI-powered features, including natural language processing, code generation, and research assistance.
How to use it:
You are not required to use Google Gemini. For those who would like to utilize this the Gemini AI tool, sign into your UCSBnetID@ucsb.edu account and navigate to gemini.google.com.
When to use it:
In essence, Gemini is useful whenever you need assistance with:
- Information retrieval
- Content creation
- Problem-solving
- Creative exploration
As Gemini continues to evolve, its capabilities and potential use cases will only expand.
