  • Google Update - Renaming Team Drives to shared drives

    In a recent G Suite Update Alert, Google announced that it's changing the
    name of Team Drives to shared drives.

    This could impact your users if they currently have shortcuts or scripts
    that link to content on Drive File Stream. File paths will need to be
    updated to “shared drives”.

    Rollout begins 5/21/2019.

  • Smart Compose in Gmail now available for G Suite

    The new Smart Compose feature is now available and turned on by default.  To turn it off, go to the gear icon in the upper right corner and select Settings.  On the General tab you'll see the "Smart Compose" feature.

    What You Need to Know
    This will take effect on Friday, July 27th

    We strongly recommend that you continue to assign the appropriate Group Tag.  This is why:

    • The Connect service uses assigned Group Tags to notify CDA’s when an employee separates from the university.  CDA’s will not be notified if an account is not assigned a Group Tag.  
    • If your department assigns department email aliases, you will still need to assign Group Tags and then use CAP to create the aliases.
    • You will not be able to deactivate a user’s Connect account if the user doesn’t have your department’s Group Tag.
