Security & Privacy

UCSB provides Connect and other communication and collaboration platforms for institutional purposes: teaching, research, study and University business. Although the University has negotiated with our hosting providers to provide stronger protective measures than normally seen in consumer services, we encourage you to review our security and privacy policies as it relates to communication & collaboration services:

Be mindful of security – do not use your Connect account to store or transmit sensitive data. Connect services can be used to store and transmit general and FERPA-protected (student) data. However, Connect is NOT suitable for storing and transmitting protected health data, personally identifying data (social security numbers, drivers license numbers, etc.), human subject research data and other actively regulated data.

Protecting the confidentiality and integrity of UCSB campus data is everyone's business.
